The Sweet-hearted

The Clan’s softest and cuddliest, second only to Kari

Growing up, Lycoris’s parents were often traveling: Cake was a Wind dragon to the very core, and Princess longed to learn more of the world. They were the perfect pair, but not always the perfect parents. As such, they happened to be staying with a host Clan in the Sea of a Thousand Currents when Lycoris’ egg hatched. They stayed in the Tidelord’s domain long enough for her to grow into a young dragoness, but they were anxious to be on the move again, and so offered her the option of joining them. She accepted, hoping to see what it was about travel which enticed her parents to constantly move, abandoning family and security alike.

However, it quickly dawned on Lycoris that she was not meant for her parents’ lifestyle. The further she journeyed from her birthplace in the Sea, the sadder she became. Finally, she told her parents she was going to return home.

They gave her a questioning look. “Home? But, dear, we don’t have a home like the others do.”

“Then I will make myself a home,” Lycoris declared. She said a fond farewell to her parents, and returned to the Water Flight. At first, she wasn’t sure where to go. In the end, she settled for a cliffside establishment, the Darksand Resort and Spa, just for a few days. As she went to check in, made eye contact with a Coatl from across the room. Intrigued, she wanted to go over and introduce herself. But before she could make a move, he blinked his wide, blue eyes and smiled. Suddenly, a stream of glossy bubbles spewed across the room, traveling from him to her, forming to spell out his greeting.

Lycoris stared, surprised at the magical trick. “How did he do that? --- He’s gonna be my best friend,” she found herself thinking. Out loud, she grinned and called to the Coatl, Akeno, “You’re going to teach me that one!”

They’ve been the closest companion ever since, and eventually agreed to become life-long mates. While Akeno is working in with the record-keepers and prophetic scrolls, Lyroris spends time with the hatchlings, who like to cuddle in her long mane. When her mate comes home from work, she often accompanies him to the tavern, where they like to listen to their Clanmate’s stories and songs together. It is no traveling life like her parents, but Lycoris loves it just the same.
