The child of a traitor and a magic user, Cortinarius was sent to be cared for in the peace and safety of Sleepy Magics. Presently, he is under the watch and care of the clan's resident Nightwatch dragon Warden, and her mate Tiburtis. While Cortinarius enjoys spending time with both his guardians, He clearly finds time with Tiburtis the most fun. Moving gears and new inventions fascinate the little Mirror, and he aspires to become a Tinkerer and Engineer like Tiburs.

That is not to say he doesn't like spending time with Warden. For one, Cortinarius loves the nightly patrols Warden goes on, where he's allowed to ride atop her head or on one of her wings and see the forest up close. These silent walks are often what he falls asleep to in Sleepy Magics, a gentle way to end the days. On the days he spends with Warden, Cortinarius gets to play with some of the resident warriors of the clan. Amongst the few, his favorite is surprisingly Ivesce. With the enchanting tales the Royal dancer can spin and regal him with, it's no surprise that Cortinarius adores her as much as his caretakers.
