Biography

TYCHE
The Stylish Sculptor

Tyche was found at the borders of the clan's territory as a hatchling. She was sheltering under a rock from the searing noonday sun, shivering with fear and sobbing her little heart out. For days it was impossible to get anything coherent out of the shocked young Nocturne. Eventually, though, she began to feel safe again, and Tyche apparently bounced back from her ordeal, whatever it was, with amazing speed. She went from withdrawn and frightened to bubbly and cheerful in a matter of days. Yet still she could not- or would not- answer questions about where she came from.

While she may be a Fire dragon by hatching, Tyche could be mistaken for a native Earther based on her skill with rock. She is a shaper of stone, and sometimes a carver of wood or engraver of metal. Tyche sculpts statues, shapes figurines, chisels pendants, and carves wards. The clan's Sanctuary of Stone, where Pele oversees their paying homage to the Earthshaker and exalts dragons to their patron's side, has been greatly enriched by her efforts. Although it was no less mighty before she came, its grand pillars and entrances are now richly carved, with runes and other sigils twirling across what appear to be twisted tines of living rock that reach from ground to lofty vault.

The confident Nocturne is usually relaxed, but can passionately rant about her art- or about fashion- for many minutes on end if permitted by a polite listener. She is quite fond of all things glamorous, and will gladly give advice on style if asked (or even if not asked). A glimmering Rhodochrosite Crane is her familiar.

But, when the day is out and Tyche retires to her den, sometimes the cheerfulness fades into contemplation, as she adjusts her scarf to better cover faint scars, and old memories of sudden screams and cruel blades and red stains loiter at the edges of her thoughts.
