Biography

From the day she hatched Lacerate was told she was beautiful. A blooming wildflower of grace and charm. Dragons would fall at her feet begging for her attention. But Lacerate was vain and foolish. She believed that beauty was everything and that as long as she was loved for that, nothing else mattered.

A tragic accident when she was just a young adult turned her entire world upside down. Complications around an alchemist’s brew caused an explosion. An entire vat of chemicals was tipped over Lacerate. For days she lay with the healers, holding onto the thin stands of hope she had left. Her life was saved but her looks were not. Something in the brew had caused a strange reaction with Lacerate’s body. Long, twisted spurs of bone had grown all over her, like strangely spiked scales.

Lacerate was no longer held at a high standard for her beauty. Where she walked, dragons would look away in disgust. With horror, she realised this was how she used to treat others. Lacerate had to be worth more than just her looks, surely? She threw herself into battle training, desperate to find a reason to live. Much to the surprise of herself and the other dragons, Lacerate quickly rose through the ranks of the Coliseum. The chemical changes to her body had not only affected her outward appearance. Lacerate’s scales were tougher than rock and her strength never tired.

Nowadays Lacerate can always be found in the Coliseum training younger dragons. At last, she has found her true worth.
