Gyri is an Imperial who was born in the Starfall Isles, and it was there that she was trained to fight. She was one of the strongest dragons in all of Sornieth when she set out to find a team she could call her own. While travelling to the east, she encountered a group of dragons who seemed to be close to her level. They were complete, however, but Gyri wasn't about to take "no" for an answer.

The leader of Clan Aves at the time was Pannus, a Pearlcatcher who was marked quite similar to Gyri. While he knew he would only be leader of the clan until the Flamecaller's prophecy was fulfilled, he had no plans to step down as the leader of their fighting team. Gyri challenged Pannus to a duel which lasted for several hours until Pannus was mortally wounded. Rather than die, he had himself exalted so that he could serve at the Flamecaller's side for eternity.

Today, she leads the battle team with Melanoma and Syrinx when he joins in. While she will always aim to defend their clan at any cost, training dragons for exaltation is her main passion. She is now fully loyal to Syrinx and the Flamecaller as her deity of choice. But she will always have ties to her homeland, and she frequently travels back to visit her father.
