Garnet joined the clan by attacking the Alpha Male, Ocella. He was very hurt physically, but admired the baby dragon's strength. It took plenty more blows to the torso and finding the energy to dodge to verbally persuade the child into joining his clan. She became good friends with Volcane immediately, wrestling him almost every morning in preparation of her future occupation as a Guardian with him.

Garnet has very little trust in any clans that have a negative reputation, thus her dislike for Iolune as she is a Plague dragon. She grew this dislike because of the horrible dragons she came across while on the border of The Scarred Wasteland, where Plague clans reside. She was bit and scratched and chased around until she dived into the waters of the Sea of a Thousand Currents, where she swam into the arms of Ocella. Or... threw herself, since she attacked him.

She is also often the messenger of the Albatross clan, since she is much better at handling a lot of different weather conditions (despite hating the heat). Although her suspicion in protective clans may make her seem rude, which makes truces a rather difficult thing to achieve when she is the one delivering the message. That is why Ocella often organizes truces instead.
