Shashai has one goal, and one goal alone - becoming a Mistress of Shadows. an embalmer, the one to escort the dead into the next world and to prepare those who go to the gods. Well, that's not completely her only goal, but if you'd ask the young Wildclaw about her plans, that's all you're going to hear. And you're going to hear a lot about it from her - Shashai loves talking about her fascination of cold flesh, of the sound of silence accompanying the bodies on their way to the gods, the fate everyone has and will fulfill one day. Shorthand: Her love for death and her faith in fate is only outmatched by her overwhelming crush for her classmate Ahti. She came to the clan as a young child - sold for an incredible sum of money. No one knows why Shani pressed Jasvinder into taking her with them, since it was the first time the Pearlcatcher actually took interest in one of the dragons willing to study under her. Maybe the young Light dragon reminded her of her own youth, all alone out in the world. Maybe she just saw her potencial. Whatever it was, Shashai felt very honored - up until her classes began and her love for the dark arts took over. Shashai is a vivid lover of bones and collects every bone she can find. Most dragons don't seem to ask themselves from where she gets them, although Shani sometimes cleans them away with a sour expression on her face. |

 Darkness and death aside, Shashai is actually a very cheerful and bubbly young girl. As your typical young witch she enjoys preparing rituals, works a lot with crystals and balms and is often seen chanting songs nobody else has ever heard of. She is quick to smile, although she doesn't really interact with any of the other dragons except her classmates. In her spare time after classes she barely leaves her chamber and is almost exclusively out during nighttime. When talked to, she is nice, but always seems a bit distant. Maybe her eyes are fixated at a point behind the dragon she talks to, maybe she is spotting a wicked grin, which really creeps the others out. But maybe she is just fiddling with her claws because Ahti drew close. Most clanmates never know, since they barely speak to Shashai. Shashai would love to find someone to talk to, but until now there are few who want to listen to her quibs about bodies, maggots and the unavoidable fate of their death. |
Shashai has no idea why she is so fascinated with Ahti, but ever since the Imperial joined the class of students under Shanis ever watchful eyes, she can't take her gaze of him. He is just so shadowy, so, mysterious, so calm and collected, so... perfect. So she did everything to befriend him - a task she accomplished so well that he counts her towards her closest freinds, even telling her about his crush for Amaryll - much to Shashais dismay. Shani is the teacher everybody had and no one really liked. She is strict, wise and absolutely boring. Although the old pearlcatcher sees Shashais talent, she apparently does nothing to nurture into her fascination with death and fate. On the contrary, she even actively opposes the idea of Shashai becoming the mortician of the clan. Iwi is somewhat of a mystery to Shashai. How can anyone spend so much time with the keeping and nurturing of life, when the opposite is so much more interesting? Shashais deep love for the morbid arts scare Iwi, although she does her best to talk the girl into a more positive use of her talents. Shashai absolutely loathes Amaryll for her pragmatistic approach towards divination and everything supernatural. This is a purely professional aversion based on their different views towards fate and faith. This has nothing to do with Ahtis crush on Amaryll. Nothing at all. |
