Biography
|
Grennevine, Lord of Myrtle Moor Though he bears a crown, Grennevine is not technically royalty--he's more of an overseer. Myrtle Moor is jointly owned by him and his mate, Qyqi, and serves as a leading grower of various types of grasses. These include not only normal varieties of grass, such as sweet grass and sea grass, but also other plants within the grass family, like bamboo, rice, oats, hay, and reeds. Clans with a large amount of tundra dragons looking to buy plants in bulk are major clientele, as well as herbivorous beastclans, like the longnecks and centaurs. Others often purchase grasses for use in construction, crafts, cooking, and medicines. No one really knows where Grennevine came from. He was born within the Viridian Labyrinth (as evidenced by his striking green eyes), but can't name any specific location from where he was born. His parents, natives of Dragonhome, made a living off of carving small ceramic figurines called "gnomes", which bear a slight resemblance to the humans of ancient times. Their most frequent customers were those visiting from the Viridian Labyrinth, who enjoyed decorating their grassy nests with these charming figurines. A skilled craftsman, noticing the skill with which the gnomes were made and how well they were selling, offered the pair a spot in his clan in return for a fraction of the profits, and they settled down within the clan for the rest of their lives. Grennevine was trained in the art from gnomecrafting at a young age, but eventually left his old clan to find his own passion. After meeting Kiki, he started a grass farm, and nominated the gnome as the mascot of Myrtle Moor in honor of his ancestors. Gnomecrafting is now a hobby of his, and not his primary way of living. "Grennevine," said the Nocturne, looking down fondly at his son. "What a strange name," replied his mate, a Snapper, "Do you mean 'green vine'?" "Yeh," he agreed. "Grennevine. His eyes grenne like vine. Yusee?" He pointed down at the small creature beneath them, who stared up at them with bright green eyes. |
