Caryo

Archivist and Explorer. Caryo initially studied under Calu upon joining the clan, particularly the art of mapmaking. The two formed a very close friendship, and when Caryo is home, he usually spends time with Calu, exchanging stories of his adventures for updates of the goings-on around clan ground.

Restlessness eventually drove him to explore, however, and he has since joined Panacius and Petrus on their expeditions. Caryo has made great efforts to map the regions they explore, and when they meet with friendly clans, he'll often head straight for their resident archivist to compare notes. He, like Panacius and Petrus, has learned to defend himself (taking lessons from Steeldust), and he is sometimes jokingly called "the Fighting Cartographer."

The map tattooed onto his wing is actually enchanted, and adjusts itself to his current location or any location he desires: a gift from Sleathily before Caryo and the others in his expedition set off. His pearl is similarly charmed, and acts as a compass.
