Biography
It is the nature of a Mirror to travel with the pack. It never particularly mattered particularly which pack, so long as they were always traveling, always on the move to sate the ravenous appetite that sustains them along the way. That does not necessitate, however, that some companions cannot be made along the way, even temporarily, and that no communication happens between those more driven by action than words.
The most common communication, however, is the silent motioning to prey, and the most common companion the dragon you trust to have your back when you go in for the kill.
For much of his life, he had scarcely known better companion than that. Whenever he got injured, the pack left without him, and he would quickly be overcome with the need to find a new source of company, driven to find someone, anyone, until such time as he found a new pack to run with. And until he was able to keep up, he fought to survive, fought to get stronger. In this way, Mirror packs always stay fit, everyone pulling their own weight, for anyone who does not falls behind, and anyone who joins is stronger for having been left alone.
He had been with this pack for a year when early one morning, a fledgling had been learning to hunt with it's mother. To a fledgling, a Corven does not look a bad meal. It is relatively easy to take down, and it seems it would taste good.
The next minute, Raptoriks were diving the small creature. The mother had burst into defensive action. Moments later, half of the pack was going after the birdlike creatures swooping in, and the longer that the fray continued, the more it grew. Feathers and fur both flew as he dove into the fray as well.
He took a few down with claw and tooth and the buffet of wings, but in such cramped quarters, it was not long before sharp talons bit into his shoulder, tore at his wing, and a weight settled on his rump for a moment, digging in before yanking off as the bird took flight once more. He let out a terrible, pained shriek before falling to the ground, desperately hoping with the last bit of consciousness he held that he wouldn't be trampled beneath the pack he had sought to defend.
He stayed out until long after the fray had died down, and when he awoke, he saw a graceful arching neck of bright purple, wings to match his own. A Guardian, building a shelter for them for the night.
Mirrors are a very action oriented breed, and at seeing her beauty, her care, he began to plot out which actions he would need to do to show his affection. He had fallen in love with his savior at first sight.
