Kai Coli Member || Clan Leader Kai woke one morning, cold, hungry and with no memory of anything before then. He didn’t know his parents or even if he had any at all and quickly learnt the skill of hunting for minor insects to keep him alive. Despite this somewhat harsh start to his new life, Kai turned out to be an easy going and generally fun loving spiral; though he was sure he used to have a lot more fluff than this. He chose the name Kai because it was the only word he could remember when he woke. Kai settled in the Everbloom’s lowest caves, with small spaces and only a few rooms for nesting, but right now that didn’t bother him. Right now there was only himself to worry about. The caves, although low and vulnerable to predators offered shelter from the elements and was close enough to low laying plants offering a plentiful hoard of insects, berries and plants to eat whenever he felt hungry. After just a few moments in the new caves he planned to call home, he stumbled across Elua. Just like Kai she also had no memory of what happened before to get her to the caves and though cautious of each other they chose to make a pack, since neither was overly strong, safety in numbers was the next most obvious solution. It was soon obvious that Elua needed no protector or hero, taking down a small enemy in the nearby training fields and earning them both a meal for the evening along with a familiar for Elua; an Autumn dryad. As time passed and Kai became more confident, he began to accept other members into his slowly growing clan and although he and Elua were close, there was no love between them. This seemed to work well for their clan and slowly they began to take on other dragons and familiars. Stripes joined and became the surrogate son of Kai and Elua, Kai caring deeply for the little trickster and gifting him an accent upon joining the clan, this bought about the tradition of a small party each time someone new joined the clan permanently. Despite his deep love for all the clan members as they came along, Kai never took a mate, comfortable with the idea of being a surrogate father to the clan rather than an actual one, and once Irina joined, she and Elua took over the roll of mother, leaving Kai at a loss of what to do; leading him to throwing himself whole into the Coliseum to ensure there was always plenty of food clothing and treasure to go around and keep his clan comfortable. |
