While Regal has grown out of her youthful vanity, she can still be rather selfish, and makes decisions for her own interest or close family’s interest without much regard for the rest of the clan. If you wrong her, she will hold the grudge obstinately and it will be near impossible to regain her friendship. Regal is remarkably intelligent in the areas that can hold her attention and interest, which is not a lot, because she believes most activities to be below her.

Regal was betrothed to Itzal when they were both young, to seal an alliance between Clan Zephirus and Clan Chatoyance. The two grew up as close friends, and deeply care about each other, but there is little romance between them.

When Regal first arrived, Zephirus was still a Wind clan, and she came from a pampered life in the Mirrorlight Promenade. She hated the Windswept Plateau and Clan Zephirus, whom she found barbaric and uncouth. She did not even like Itzal at first, a symbol of her responsibilities to both her home clan and this new one, a duty she was forced into and never wanted. Her only solace was Amiri's motherly kindness. Amiri was the only clan member patient enough to put up with Regal's shallow whimsies. She is still close friends with Amiri, one of the few in the clan whose company Regal thinks worthwhile. Regal has now accepted her role as Matriarch, though she mostly uses her power and influence for her own gain.
