Eryena was born in the Mirrorlight Promenade of the Light Flight. Her parents were poor, and could not afford to take care of her. As a result, a few days after her birth, she was sent to live at an orphanage. There, she was given adequate care, although she was never adopted, nor did her birth parents ever come to visit her.

In an effort to battle her constant loneliness and sadness as a hatchling, Eryena focused primarily on trying to improve the lives of others. From an early age, she would often console the other orphans when they were going through a difficult time. She would also give away any toys that were donated to others as gifts to the other hatchlings, and would not hesitate to share her food with another one of her peers. Seeing others happy made Eryena happy.

When she was old enough to go to school, Eryena also proved to be a hardworking student. Although she was not the best in her class, she attempted every assignment with as much effort as she could muster. In class, she was often quiet, and kept to herself, since she was afraid of others mocking her for her socioeconomic background since she still lived at the orphanage. However, she would still comfort anyone who was even remotely distraught, and managed to retain her kind nature throughout her early academic career.

When Eryena was an adult, she left her old orphanage behind. She moved into one of the dorms at a local university where she was studying nursing. After much thought, she considered it the best career option for her, since she would be able to help others in need. Once she graduated, Eryena moved to a different clan to help more people recover from illness.
