    Kleia was found randomly in the middle of the clan's lair one morning. She was just sleeping and wouldn't wake up. No one knew where she had come from. The nesting female dragons kept her with their hatchlings until a month later she woke up and passed out magical white ribbons to all the dragons in the clan. Everyone was confused because she never spoke during that time. The ribbons stayed that white color and she went back to sleep for a month. The second month she woke up again and passed out new white ribbons. She finally spoke and said that these ribbons would change colors when she spoke the right words and if they matched another dragon's ribbon that meant the pair was truly lifemated in the eyes of the gods. The catch is though that she's the oldest dragon in the clan. She was found like this at the very start of Avis' existence and started the tradition of lifemates being officially announced to the clan. She's broken up many dragon couples and has confirmed what other's have believed because of her ribbons ..... but she never grows up or has had a lifemate of her own. Some dragons get very sad when they think about her never growing older and having to watch many dragons pass away and leave her. Although she never seems to remember past ten years. It's rumored that she was abonded by her real mother and left to go serve the gods but since she was so young they sent her to their clan to confirm a tradition in a new clan and is a servant to them first before her clan.

    Kleia is very childish on every other day of the month and full of energy. Always running around and playing with the other hatchlings in the clan. She snuggles up to whatever dragon lets her do so and sleeps with them at night or sleeps at the top of a hatchling pile to keep warm at night when the adults don't let her sleep with them. But during that one night a month her eyes glow slightly and its like she's another dragon and others swear she knows everything that's happen in the past in that moment. She's completely silent while passing out the ribbons and walks slowly and calmly in contrast to her running around all the time every other day. When she bows her head to the ground and whispers to herself is when the ribbons start to change.

    No one knows where these magical ribbons or Kleia really come from.

Lifemates

Once a month there is a night where Kleia, who never grows up, will announce the newest lifemated pairs. Normally it is in the week of the flight festivals. She does this by handing special colorless ribbons to a small group of dragons.
The ribbons will do one of three things when midnight hits.
  1. Turn to dust - Meaning they haven't yet met their life mate
  2. Stay white - Meaning they've met their lifemate but their lifemate wasn't given a ribbon that night.
  3. Turns a color matching that of another dragon - meaning the dragon who's colors match are new lifemates

This night is a night that is met with butterflies in stomachs and excitement, but it can bring sadness because if a couple doesn't get matching colors or one of their ribbons turns to dust then its normally the end of their relationship. And in extremely rare cases two dragons are given a ribbon and are announced as lifemates who aren't in love yet.
There has been cases where dragons have lost their ribbons. They have to wait for the next month to see if they'll be given a ribbon again.

If one of a lifemated Pair dies in someway the other will follow shortly after. This can happen even before a lifemated pair is announced to the clan. For this reason there are dragons who chose to not seek a lifemate.
