She had to learn how to fight to survive when Lily, her former clan leader, banished her. Lily was always doing these purges, to "rid the clan of the unfaithful and unworthy." Apparently Anesha counted as one of these dragons, regardless of being a native of the Viridian Labyrinth and a devout worshipper of the Gladekeeper.

Lily's own son was sent away, though he later was exalted to the Gladekeeper, much to Lily's chagrin. That didn't stop the purges; Pansy, her son's mate, left with Florian and Mauli, Anesha's older brothers, to find a new home away from Lily's wrath. Pansy's newborn daughters were brought as well; no doubt they would've been left to the wilderness to survive on their own to prove their worth to Lily if Pansy didn't bring them. Blossom and Gosha, the leaders of Fallen Leaves, admitted the group of five into the clan, taking them to the Hollow to live under Zipp, one of Fallen Leaves' sub-leaders.

Anesha pieced together her own armor, and eventually got ahold of a sword. She wandered the Shattered Plains of Dragonhome-- sometimes fighting the skeletal remains of wyrms long past -- until her brothers came, along with some of their new clan, to bring her to the siblings' new home.

She now helps Valkyrie protect the Hollow from those who would hurt them.
