Unavailable Emotionless and silent, Null remains devoid of any emotion, intelligence, or expression. Once a passionate young Skydancer, Null was lovable and kind. Born, he was named Harei, along with his siblings, Amaratsu and Taire. Protected by the whole clan, the three small hatchlings were prone to getting in trouble. But their pranks and tricks were mostly harmless, until they wandered off. Finding themselves in strange territory, they ventured into the forest. Taire wanted to turn back, but Amara and Harei bravely pushed forward, taunting their younger brother for his caution. But when nothing came of their bravery, Amaratsu and Harei dejectedly turned back with only a few trinkets. Later that night, as the clan settled down to rest, shadelings that had followed the young wyrms slipped silently into camp, first contaminating the eggs, before slowly killing dragons in their sleep. Five families had been killed, before the guards were alerted to the presence. Immediately evacuating the clan members, Harei's mother quickly ushered her children out and with the rest of the clan. Lagging behind, Harei wasn't so lucky as to get out unscathed, a shadow overtaking him and possessing him. Disowned and thrown out of the clan, the dragon had nowhere to turn but to trust the shade, and its vile whispers in his ear. Eventually it corrupted his impressionable mind, and he followed it to a nearby clan. With a leader who called herself "Lucille". She promised him a home and food, in exchange for his service in her clan. Standing as a Guard, along with two other dragons, he found it to be quite a fair exchange. Not much happened in such shielded territory anyhow. And he truly enjoyed the company of Bassilith, and quite fancied Civ. In fact, he got to stand with Civ and chat all day, though careful to avoid attracting Lucille's attention to the fact they weren't working. But, their plan backfired when there was a sudden attack on the clan. Unprepared and too disoriented to help much, though the guards managed to kill some of them, a few thieves made off with the food and valuable trinkets of the Atrabo Clan. If the Guards who were on duty and immediately there thought they had it bad, they were horrified about what happened to Harei and Civ. Lining up all of the Guards, the Pearlcatcher eyed them all. Even the Imperial feared for his life, bowing before her. Harei kept his head down, heart hammering as Lucille slowly made her way to him. There was utter silence, as none of them dared to challenge her. Wincing as she stopped in front of him, he felt her tilting his head up to look at him. "You two," Harei couldn't look over at Civ, but he could feel her shift uncomfortably. Staying silent, neither wanted to risk angering her further. "Both of you were out, talking and catching up, when your job, is to Guard." The beginning of an apology formed in Harei's throat, but he didn't get far, as he suddenly felt a blast of pain. Crying out, he turned his eyes up toward her desparately. He could feel the shade being painfully ripped from him, and he writhed, trying to escape. "And now I'm going to make an example out of you." She finished quietly, before everything blacked out for Harei. Waking up, the first thing Harei saw was Lucille grinning. Taking a moment to register his surroundings, he tried to think of something to say, only to come up blank. In fact, he couldn't even remember his own name. Tilting his head down to look at his claw, he stared mindlessly at the gray paw where a green one was meant to be. Staggering to his feet, he looked over where Civ was, before back at Lucille. "Maybe that's enough incentive to follow orders next time." Not even flinching, the nameless dragon bowed his head to Lucille, as did the female Ridgeback. Pleased, their Clan leader flew off, leaving the zombies alone to do their duties, as they should have before.  Apparel Null Needs -  |
