Kebal
Minstrel, bard
Minstrel, teller of tales and weaver of stories

"I would run away with you, my friend. For our destinies are greater than the Gods themselves!"

Kebal, being a minstrel, is hardly sparing of his daring tale. Though it's likely some things are exaggerated, the story itself is capturing.

He was hardly a youth when he was set to the auction block; all but abandoned to what might beset him there. He had a fine voice, and had hoped to make use of it - along with his knack for storytelling. His luck would not be so fine, unfortunately. He was spotted by an uncomfortable looking coatl and his contract was purchased. While plodding ever nearer to the Sea of a Thousand Currents, he became acquainted with the tundra, Mountain, an older dragon wearied by his failing body.

Kebal found himself nodding eagerly at the tundra's life tales as a diplomat to the beastclans. This, he thought to himself this is what it's like to truly live!
Ever thirsting for details of Mountain's work, he'd asked question after question, until they were silenced by the coatl who now led them to the sea.

Kebal speaks of the next leg of their journey with naught but shame. Their captors told them that this would be difficult, and that like as not it would be a waste of their time. But so too would they speak of their need for gifts to the Tidelord. Something in the way they spoke lit a spark in Kebal and the others; a thirst to prove themselves as worthy.

It only took a week for Mountain and a handful of other dragons to break. Those who hadn't failed felt only scorn for those who had- Kebal being no exception. Something in him urged him to strive to be better than the rest, and Esmyth instilled in all of them that their skill meant they were above those who'd failed. If the dragon weren't worthy of serving the Tidelord, they were fit only as servants of dragons such as Kebal.

Kebal doesn't speak much of what happened to Mountain while he finished his own training, as Mountain was sent to another branch of dragons, to be trained to serve under other deities.

Kebal's own training was painful. Awakening after what would feel like mere moments of sleep, he and his fellow initiates would spend hours meditating in frigid water, to weather their bodies for even the harshest conditions. They would be versed in the principles of Charged Abyss warriors; taught that weakness is solved best by abandonment. After all, if they're strong, they'll make their own way back.
These twisted rules made up Kebal's world for nearly a month, until it would be that he failed. What he failed and why, he will not say.

He will not speak of anything until his escape, something few dragons even noticed. The way he tells it, he simply slipped out with Mountain. Fleeing until collapsing in a bog on the outskirts of Shadow flight territory. From there, he and mountain wandered, slowly regaining strength of mind and body.

As time passed, Mountain suggested they find a clan to settle in, something to bring a sense of normality into their lives.

[paragraph here depending on whether or not Kebal is bought with Mountain]

-for resale when I have a decent bio for him and Mountain. Was going to exalt, changed my mind after thinking of a neat story idea.
If you are the original seller, and would like me to revise anything for the sake of your own lore, PM me asap.

(bought for 7k, planning to sell for 60k if alone, 50k if bought with Mountain)
