Seir

He's been called "The Seer" ever since he was a hatchling. He got so used to hearing the title that he thought it was his name. His parents knew he was different the moment he opened his wide scarlet eyes. He didn't cry out like his siblings. Instead he blinked up at his elders with an all-knowing stare and began to predict their futures. Dragons would visit from far and wide to see this powerful Nocturne in action. He's not a mystic for hire but he's obliged to help those in need of his assistance. Seir honestly prefers to be left alone but he knows that it's his responsibility to use his gift for the advancement of dragonkind. The only living being close enough to truly know him is his trusty familiar, Foras. The Stonewatch Prince is just as famous as his dragon counterpart. He can often be found perched on his companion's shoulder, helping him flip through the pages of an ancient rune book. The two of them are less like friends and more like family. Seir has devoted most of his life to prophecies and lunar charts but the rest of his heart belongs to Foras. They protect each other and they don't need anyone else.

Seir first encountered his familiar during a trip to the Crystal Pools. He was searching for some rose quartz to use in a complicated cleromancy ritual when a sharp, high-pitched voice shouted, "look out!" The Nocturne glanced up and found himself face-to-face with a furious-looking Hawksbill Goliath. The great beast raised itself up on its hind legs and prepared to crush the terrified dragon when a dark brown blur attached itself to his face, temporarily blinding the monster.
"Go, quickly! Get behind that pile of rocks over there!"
Seir obeyed the stranger's orders and waited until the coast was clear. When he returned to the clearing a tired-looking Stonewatch Prince was there waiting for him with a tear in his wing.
"Thank you," the dragon murmured, "you really didn't have to do that."
"Yes, I did," the Prince replied. "I was supposed to find you. I believe the two of us are supposed to stay together."
The Seer wasn't one to question the workings of fate. If this Stonewatch Prince believed their futures were entwined he'd have to remain by the familiar's side.
"I suppose I owe it to you to patch up that wing," he shrugged. "What should I call you?"
"Foras. And you?"
"Seir."
The pair of them returned to Seir's lair. The dragon healed the Stonewatch Prince and since that day they have always been together. It was what the fates intended, after all.
