"It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves."

She sits there watching you, eyes much older than her body,
a child of a necromancer or maybe wild, untamable magic,
seeking to protect its home from the enemy.
Her hide is covered by rough, hard scales, their texture that of rock.
Ribs jut out of her caved-in chest, cradling within them a gemstone heart
glowing in the rhythm of her heartbeat. Thump, thump, thump.

A rattling breath breath resounds through the air,
her gaping maw spewing out a cloud of hot steam,
revealing rows of white, sharp teeth.
Her wings are thick and heavy, shackling her to the ground,
dark brown clay inwrought with glittering white marble.

Her eyes, two glittering gemstones in a broken body,
watch you with trepidation, waiting for the fear, disgust, loathing...
She seems so frail, a lost child, a kicked puppy, always alone.
What a pitiful creature...

The child died days after birth in her mother’s hands, too weak and frail to survive. She was born when her mother had gotten lost in Dragonhome, her favorite place to explore, after setting off after an argument with her father.

Unable to tell her mate about the child, Ankou never told Sohma about her and buried her in the Rest where ambient magic resurrected her.
