From the moment her egg was laid, her parents knew that she was going to be different.

Her egg was larger than the others in her clutch by far, but the shell was almost fatally thin. It never formed the protective barnacles that normal Water eggs grow, and throughout the incubaiton period, her mother and father had to constantly worry about crushing the fragile egg.

If it could even be called that. It more resembled a jellyfish, or a waterskin than an egg. And it extruded a foul odor unlike anything her parents had ever encountered. They were worried it had rotted.

But when the clan's healer, Valkhuna, came to examine it, she was more confused than worried.

The egg was fine, she assured them. She could not explain how or why it was the way it was, but she could tell them with certainty that the hatchling growing inside it would be fine.

She had, after all, hatched from just such an egg herself.

Their worries lessened only slightly, the day of her hatching was one of the greatest reliefs of her parents' lives.

Though her egg tore itself open in a rather alarming way, she crawled out of the rush of foamy water as healthy and strong as her two brothers.

As she grew, it became even more apparent that she was going to be special. She learned to speak amazingly fast, and was stretching her wings and flying weeks before she should have been able to. And besides that, she is incredibly strong, able to lift burdens that dragons twice her size and age struggle with.

But despite her oddities, she has never give the Clan reason to distrust her, and does everything in her power to help those around her.
