Beryllium

Beryllium comes from powerful blood and shares it with many. His mother, Alia, and father, Corruption, are both powerful warriors who have never had an unsatisfactory offspring. His half-brothers and sisters are all successful and formidable. And that pressure landed on his shoulders as soon as he left the nest. Despite being physically alluring. his parents took little interest in him and his brother, Aleuria, however, later went home with Corruption, leaving Beryllium stranded. He felt rather adrift, but decided to choose the path of warrior. It's been a tough road, but he caught the eye of young Pearlcatcher Adansonia, and that somehow made it all a little better.

Even with so many doors available to open because of his parentage, Beryllium is blind to these opportunities. In a way, this has made him a diminished soul, anxious to prove himself. Many find his grating grabs for attention annoying and whiny - and this habit ostracizing him even farther from his placid, though distant, mother. He has some redeeming qualities - such as his hero's selfless bravery. It's the type you only see in the stories when a dashing, handsome man rescues a helpless being from the mouth of disaster. It's very refreshing.
