Kyras

(He/Him)

The Nightmare Mage

plaguetop.png

Kyras was once the loyal, yet hen-pecked assistant of the Ice enchantress, Venus, during the Royal War. He'd use his magic to protect Venus from intruders as well as combat in the fortress courtyard.
Though he's a very skilled magician, Kyras is also rather clumsy and would often get yelled at by Venus. Needless to say, his master's goal of dominating Sokuna didn't exactly go as planned and the two of them, along with the rest of their remaining army, were arrested. The leader of Sokuna showed mercy to the foes and released them, on the condition that they all stay within clan limits and learn from the clan's lawful ways. Kyras was at least relieved by this, happy to get out of his prison cell where Venus didn't have to constantly nag at him all day. One day while Kyras was out trying to get back into practice with his peculiar magic, the leader of the clan stopped him to ask "Can I see that again?"

Kyras may not look like it from a glance, but he is indeed a Plague dragon. But he uses his magic differently than most of his kind. Instead of using brute force and physical diseases, Kyras uses his magic to poison and manipulate the mind. Akiela, the leader of the clan, was impressed by this and asked to see more. Now Kyras works in the Dreamer's Den as a nightmare mage. Though it seems like a harsh occupation, nightmares are often necessary to use for sending warnings to others in their sleep. And that's exactly what Kyras does. He means no harm in his nightmare spells. He doesn't create raw dreams himself, but when an Arcane mage creates a dream, he is then able to convert it into a nightmare using his peculiar Plague magic. Despite this occupation, Kyras is a kind dragon and often apologizes for having to send frightening images in dreams. He still talks to Venus, even though she still likes to be the boss of him.
