Annaffiare

He was born in a grotto not to far from his current home now. Annaffiare seemed more like his mother than his older brother. He wasn't strong in his youth and would usually fall ill. His brother was scholarly to the point that Annaffiar began to aspire to become something better, but his scholarly persuits were just as bad as his strength. That's when he met his best friend and current familiar Veloce. He was sulking and muttering to himself when he came upon this strangely confident mouse. Veloce was so confident in fact he walked straight into Annaffiar on his way to a dragon fighting torment. Veloce seeing that Annaffiar was a dragon immediately challenged him to a duel. Annaffiar politely declined, striking up a conversation that started their lifelong journey as best friends. (Veloce's will to be in tournament fighting eventually led Annaffiar to become a fierce fighter, aiding his mother in getting food for his family's den.)

Silent, always tossed, blown, wayward...

Someone trapped beneath the surface.
Screaming to be let go,
Something it seemed that no-one would know.

Afraid, to brake the glass as he gently tread.
Always watching to see if he'd disturbed,
A shadowed shattered ocean of thoughts.

Then a light came along, brighter than the rest.
Tested by the same battles,
Tried to escape all the same ways.

But managed to fight through it.
Broken just the same,
Battling stronger than the first saw.

Waiting for a friend a single confidant.
Watching for the storm to pass,
Wandering through it all.

Waiting blinded though a storm.
