Conrad

Conrad is known for his loud voice and endless energy. One of the four hatchlings brought from Martin's hatchling lair to escape a disease that was passing through the lair, Conrad was the first to recover his strength. He would often fly circles around larger dragons when young and never seemed to be able sit still for more than a moment. Despite his constant and sometime sporadic movement, Conrad has a fantastic sense of direction. Not only this but a remarkable gut feeling that allows him to seek out the location of anyone in the lair, whether they are within Danzi's territory or traveling abroad.

An incident that particularly scared poor Astara, who was in charge or watching the young dragons, was when Conrad announced he wanted to visit his mother. That night he snuck out and disappeared for three weeks. He was brought back by Lyra at the end of three long and fret filled weeks... mostly on Astara's part. When asked where he had been, Conrad explained that his mother had been traveling in the Viridian Labyrinth, and thus it had taken him longer to travel there then just to the Shifting Expanse, where she normally resided. It was only Liza that picked up on the fact that he knew exactly where his mother was and how to get there. To this day she believes that if Conrad could sit still for a bit to learn magic, he would be an incredible sorcerer; however Conrad has never been interested in magic despite her recommendation that he learn.

Instead, Danzi decided to take advantage of his directional talent and persistent activity, and Conrad has happily held the job of lair courier since. When it would normally take weeks if not months to track down Shore, Eve or any other traveling dragons abroad, Conrad can do it in days. Making him a valuable asset to the lair in times of urgence, when the speed of message delivery is of utmost importance.

Unfortunately, Astra has never forgiven Conrad for disappearing at a hatchling without taking an adult dragon. As a result, she often finds reasons to scold him. The most frequent one being his stubborn avoidance of her annual lair health check ups.

When at the lair, Conrad often spends time with his best friend, Mira, who although is not as loud and boisterous as he, she is similar in her need for constant movement. This relationship has extended to business as Mira was also promoted to courier duties, although not allowed to go as far or carry as urgent and delicate messages as Conrad. The two often meet up away from Danzi's territory when traveling, for it is much more fun with a travel companion. Their favorite location being the Tsunami Flats, where they bath in the water and sun before continuing on their respective journeys.

Conrad currently is romantically involved with Lilly, who can somehow calm his ever energetic nature, maybe due to her stationary guard duty and tendency for a bit of mischief. He has grown attached to their time together, as they create moments of pause in his motion filled life.
