TAKER The Golden One - Gluttony - All-knowing It's hard to say when you got here, or why, or even how, but this party does not feel like a party at all. You sit in a long, dark room, the walls painted a rich black with a gold tapestry hanging off of them like a desperate attempt to make the place appear more tasteful than it was. The room smells of cheap wine and three-day-old dinner, stale and cold. At the head of the table, sit two large men. One wears an awful golden suit that looks about ready to burst at the seams as if the man wearing it had somehow grown into the outfit over the years to the point where it could no longer be removed. He looks pleased, his head remains fixated on you as if waiting for you to strike up a conversation. His smile is rotten, his eyes hidden behind cloth and yet you can still tell he is looking at you. Finally, you ask him, why are you here, and how did you arrive at such an event? But he does not answer, he just smiles something wicked before continuing a conversation you did not start. You've been here and will always be here now my dear, he tells you. You are their guest, you have been since you arrived and will be until you leave... If you ever leave that is. Now, it's about time we start this again he says. With another smile the man beckons food to be placed in front of you, the plate is full when it arrives but as soon as you look down it's empty. It smells like three day old dinner... You look back up, when did you arrive at this party? Or how? Or when? |
