"Hear the call of Avernus."

Son of one of the Gladekeeper's most trusted lieutenants, Avernus could be immensely powerful-- if he cared to claim his legacy. Wanting nothing to do with the dieties' battles for dominance over Sornieth, Avernus instead prefers to spend his time wandering the wildwoods that surround the Collegium. This job is more important than it seems-- forests in the Starfall Isles tend to be rather strange, and prone to all sorts of potentially dangerous magical wildlife. Avernus ensures nothing deadly grows in the deep woods, and in return lives happily in a cottage on the edge of the school grounds with his mate, the herbalist Mentha.

Only a few of the faculty-- and none of the students-- know of Avernus's heritage, and he prefers it that way. Should anyone threaten the home he has built, however, he will unleash the full scope of his powers, turning the land itself against any invader.

Avernus is a solemn fae, rarely speaking except to his mate. He prefers the sounds of the deep woods to any dragon speech. Nevertheless, he is not unkind, often quietly offering his blessings to the denizens of the forest.
