Son of the goddess of Leviathan Trench and the Vampiric Bard who charmed her for a night, Abyssmal grew up without much contact to either of his parents. He did however, inherit traits from both. His sibling were not so lucky though, and Abyssmal was born into a nest with two stillborn demigods. Growing up in Sleepy Magic was hard, considering none of the others knew of his draw to the sea and inability to be in the sunlight. Thankfully, the Tangled Wood had very little sunlight to begin with, as well as a certain siren that lay within. Nadhezda found Abyssmal after the pearlcatcher's nest was abandoned by Basilius, taking in the little diviner after noticing his already potent untapped magic.
Being raised by a Siren and her goofy cartographer mate did help Abyssmal in more ways than one. Nadhezda taught him the ways of divining and water magic, and Loupamore helping him retain at least a small connection towards mortal dragons. Despite that, Abyssmal often withdrew into a mental shell around other dragons, only really speaking to his caretakers, and the occasional step sibling that the oceanic pair hatched.
His favorite sibling, by far, has always been Starfish. Enough so that he was willing to follow her lead into new clans, mostly staying out of sight in her shadow.
