Biography

naturev1.png
natureshieldr.png Kapok
Nature Representative/Chef
Member of the Aurora Clan

Sensitive | Forceful | Spontaneous

Named for one of the largest and most ecologically important trees in South America!

Kapok is a reclusive artist and chef, and enjoys testing new recipes on her unsuspecting clanmates. Unlike her vegetarian mother, she does not shrink from eating all sorts of plants and animals. Her other passion is collecting bird feathers she finds in the Labyrinth and using them to create beautiful collages.

She hoped to eventually join another clan, and her hope was granted when Belle found her one day and offered her a position in the Aurora Clan in Arcane. Her brother Pinyon currently resides in a Wind clan and they often correspond via messenger sparrow. Her other brother, Juniper, was accepted into the Gladekeeper's service and now (she suspects) resides in the broad spreading branches of the Behemoth.

Kapok and her nestmates were all a very curious bunch of hatchlings, getting into trouble often by accident since they just had to know what their actions could do. Kapok was possibly the most dangerous, as she would often sit a bit too close to the chef in her clan when they didn’t even know she was there! She was so quiet around most, but when she opened up all she could talk about was how she wanted to learn more about cooking, and how she wanted to paint and draw all of the beautiful things she saw. Often many just couldn’t keep up with her enthusiasm, but at least when she asked for bird feathers her clanmates were happy to provide them for her.

While she was content in the Viridian Labyrinth she did wish to see what existed beyond the forest she and her brothers had grown up in, she just didn’t have any drive to find out yet. Kapok just kept to her interests as a chef and a growing artist, that was until Belle came to visit her clan at least. Belle was absolutely entranced by her artwork and by the food she made, though Kapok admitted that she was rather limited on both of her jobs. All she could draw was the nature that had existed around her since she was young, and she was careful about what she cooked since her mother didn’t care for eating meat due to her animal friends. She was offered a place in Belle’s Arcane clan to gain more experience, an offer that she took up with intense excitement.

Separating from her brothers was the hardest part of leaving, especially since all three of them were going into different directions. Pinyon was offered a place in a Wind clan, while Juniper seemed to have no intentions on leaving home but rather wanted to climb the ranks to meet the Gladekeeper personally. Kapok swore to keep in touch with both of them as best as she could but when she settled into her new home Pinyon was the only one who replied, she simply hoped Juniper was alright and continued to write to at least Pinyon. Her work in food and art became more adventurous in arcane, she loved being the clan’s official chef but she had another shared job, she was the second nature representative after a spiral named Cedar who would sometimes come to visit her. Despite wanting often to keep to herself she welcomed his company and herbs, she would even begin to teach him how to cook a little until their friendship changed due to Cedar’s outburst. He admitted that he loved her and she happily accepted, she couldn’t ask for a better mate than him.
