| Meer was not supposed to live. As a hatchling of two Coatls already deathly pale themselves, the youngster was never expected to make it to adulthood. In a way, he didn't. Meer survived his many early brushes with death, but not entirely unchanged. He sees echoes. Reflections. Memories of things no longer here. Perhaps he is an echo himself. He came seeking the Garren to seek safety and self-control, and he found tutelage under Iris, who helped him find peace. She named him Meerschaum because though it is soft, it hardens with exposure to light and warmth, just as she intends to show Meer he may have come to the Garren small and afraid, but he can and will become stronger. | Meer is a somber, quiet dragon who shies away from large gatherings and can barely tolerate any form of dragon-to-dragon touch. Under Iris's strict instructions, the rest of the Garren have shown a healthy respect for his personal space, but as time has passed, Meerschaum has occasionally risen to brush raised wings or headbutt an outspoken hatchling. He will never be a touchy-feely extrovert like Carnelian, but Iris and Enstatite have commented on their hopes that he will at least find a small circle of friends. |
