The Wanderer


The bones of her foes rattle upon her wings and herald the coming of the Wanderer...
Known for pilfering eggs from unwatched nests, this barren Ridgeback raises the dragons that hatch from these stolen eggs as though they were her own. And yet, many of the young dragons that she fosters are doomed to follow the same path - they wander Sornieth forever more, their souls as restless as their wings.

Though it seems she lays a curse upon these dragons, the Wanderer cares for them as deeply as though they were of her own flesh and blood. They are the only creatures she shows any form of affection or kindness. If ever her fostered offspring are in dire straights, she always manages to appear beside them, her hulking form spelling certain doom for any that would harm her young. Her prowess in battle is renowned and her reputation precedes her.

Throughout Sornieth, would-be parents keep watchful eyes on their clutches, and those dragons assigned as guards strain their ears each night, listening for the telltale sign of the Wanderer's coming, the gentle rattling of the bones draped upon her wings....

This Ridgeback wanders Sornieth in solitude, but has come to call the Shifting Expanse home. Yet her time within the lair is fleeting, she often disappears for months at a time, searching for nests that she might be able to call a hatchling her own. Abandoned eggs often come under her care, and the dragons that hatch from these unknown eggs often find a home within her clan, though they too are prone to disappear for weeks on end.
