origins

Deliphon is the firstborn son of Periphae and Beguiler, and, unlike his brother, is the only one to profess any prophetic abilities at all. When Periphae and Gwenyth first became friends, she had a feeling that her child would be needed in the Clan of the Wandering, and an exchanging of firstborn hatchlings was created to bind the clans together.

The young Mirror himself felt that he was meant to be a part of Gwenyth’s clan, especially because of Galahad, son of the clan’s Guardian leader. When he overheard his mother and the guardian talking, he raced over to Galahad, with whom he had already developed a friendship, and exclaimed that his mother had said they were “soup-mates.” Though he is aloof around most dragons, Galahad has the benefit of seeing Deliphon’s gentle and loving personality, which Deliphon only shows to dragons he feels the most comfortable around.

Deliphon has prophetic feelings, but cannot as yet receive visions like his mother. However, he is empathic, and is able to feel the emotions of others around him. Such power is incredibly overwhelming, and Elerius, a very regal and serious Ice dragon, has agreed to mentor him so he can learn how to be less overwhelmed by the emotions he can feel around him, and to separate which emotions are his, and which are emotions he absorbs from others.

Like his mother, Deliphon has a strong sense of purpose, and he feels that his purpose in life is to advise Galahad and to generally help him in any way that he can. For now, though, his tasks are less serious. The two dragons frequently meet to make soup together, an occasion they both look forward to. Deliphon hunts and catches the food to be put into the meal, a great outlet for his natural hunting instinct, while Galahad cooks. But Deliphon can feel that greater things await them, and he is ready to stand by Galahad’s side. He doesn’t quite realize that Galahad has made him his charge. Additionally, Deliphon and his brother Xanafon are very close, and Deliphon often visits his family back home in Effort Clan. He is very excited to be an uncle.
