Biography
A Water-flight Dreamer, Aishling gets her fragments of prophecy while she sleeps.
She was full grown, and all her clutch-mates had long since found their charges. She had nothing to show for her life except the strange markings on her skin, and that was no blessing at all. Her life seemed as empty as a tide-pool with a leak, and she drifted aimlessly.
The dream she had was little more than a name, and a promise of greatness. Ice and snow called her south, across the salty ocean and to the edge of the Southern contient, where the frozen waves once beat against a stony shore. On her way she picked up two lost hatchlings, Aurye and Halaflora. Halaflora was an abandoned hatchling of the Shifting Expanse, who kept her parent's affinity for tinkering if nothing else. Aurye was an egg lost on the Windswept Plateau, whom Aishling had cradled halfway to the Icefloes.
The Winterlings were reluctant to accept them; the first new members of the clan besides newborn Jizara. But theirs is a harsh land, and Mercor would not see dragons freeze to death right on their doorstep. So Aishling found both her charge and her clan.
Her purpose will always be to safeguard the hatchlings of the Winterlings. She does travel as her dreams direct her, and in some ways she is still connected to her Water birth-flight. But her heart belongs to the children of ice and snow and rock, where the waves once crashed against an ancient shoreline.
