Drown My Will To Fly

Fighter was the third non-Fae to join the Night Papillon Clan, shortly after Solarwing forced her way in. Originally a Spiral until he was pressured to change his breed to fit in among the Faes. Zola was more than happy to indulge in his request and Anwyl was thrilled and fully endorsed the idea, much to his eventual regret.

As a Spiral he never felt like he belonged. His siblings always appeared to excel at anything and everything while he felt to shy to even attempt out of fear of making a mistake. In his own mind he felt ostracized and left in the middle of the night without a word, positive his clan would not miss him. Fighter wandered aimlessly for a while, but was not fairing well when Solarwing happened upon him. She was the one who encouraged him to join the clan if he would not search for another.

Goldensun was not pleased with this at all, but knew that fighting Solarwing would only cast suspicion onto her, and Anwyl's trust was to valuable to lose. Though it was apparent that the other Faes held certain reserves towards the shy Spiral. Couple that with the language barrier and Fighter felt lonelier than before. And that is when Zola broached the topic of a spell she had been experimenting with.

Zola claimed that all his troubles would fade if he merely was a Fae. The logic was sound enough and Zola has a very persuasive sales pitch. As the Faes were happy with this possibility, Fighter decided, with a touch of reluctance to accept. The spell worked physically but Fighter still cannot speak as the Faes do and harbors a lot of regrets. He deals with it by engrossing in his work: fighting to collect information on hunting and enemy clans.
