Biography

Rasp was born under a new moon, when clouds covered all the stars in the sky. Darkness was apt to cover him even when the stars did shine. When he made his pearl, it was clouded with dark forms that swirled when the pearl was touched. As he grew up, Rasp was fascinated by the shadows cast on glaciers, he would sit and stare at them until they disappeared with the rising sun. Soon, Rasp was only coming out at night. The light began to hurt his eyes. With the sun reflecting off the glaciers of his home clan, Rasp decided he needed a darker place to live.
Rasp aimed for the Tangled Wood, where he knew The Shadowbinder would take good care of him. Unfortunately, Sorneith had other plans. An errant storm blew him off course, and he ended up in the Viridian Labyrinth. Rasp crashed and became tangled in a rather thorny tree. He was trapped for days, but didn't make a sound. He was soothed by the shadows of the great canopy above. It was a turn of luck when a witch stopped by and saw his plight. She quickly untangled him, and explained she was on her way to a new clan nearby. Rasp was immediately enamored with the unqiue spiral, and followed her to their new clan.
Despite the gloom clinging to his form, Rutilia and Hamlin welcomed him in with open claws. Rasp found the darkest corner of the lair and settled in with Kaide by his side. He began to dabble in Shadow magic, despite his icy upbringing. He would use his pearl to direct his magic. Kaide followed the path of herbalism and witchcraft. Together they worked towards bringing dead plants to life, and making extinct species thrive again. Soon their little space was lush and beautiful. Rasp and Kaide spread their seedlings to the rest of the lair. They made the clan's space vibrant and verdant within weeks of settling in.
