Biography

Leader

Integrity/Motherly/Loyal/Strong

Mate:
23276428_350.png

Freya is the current leader of The Phoenix Requiem clan. She is known for her fierce loyalty, a strong warrior spirit, and a doting mother. Though she herself still is unsure of her leadership over the wind bound clan, many of its members admire her work and look at her as an example to follow. She can often be found conversing with members of the clan finding out tasks that need tending to or in the nesting dens watching the hatchling play. Freya also spends much of her time with her younger son Larkin and her adoptive daughter, Pumpkin. She often lets them get away with things most others wouldn’t; like scaring the hatchling silly with a rather extreme prank gone wrong, or right in some cases. She tries to push Larkin to stop messing about with Pumpkin and become leader after her, but she has yet to see him take this request seriously. Despite this, she still finds joy in her children’s worry-free nature. Unlike her children, Freya has experienced some of the worst of what life has to offer.

Freya was not born in the calm, windswept plains like her children; Larkin and Pumpkin aren’t even her first offspring. She was born in a shadow clan, where she grew up and learned how to fight. There, she became a very accomplished warrior which helped her catch the eye of a mate not long after. When Freya was made a guard for her clan, she had her first clutch with her mate, (PLACEHOLDER). She was so excited that she would tell any dragon that would listen that future that she had envisioned with the children she couldn’t wait to meet. Sadly, she would never get to meet her unborn hatchlings; while Freya was watching the eggs, the clan got raided by a rival clan’s warband attempting to claim territory for their flight. Freya, determined to defend her home against the invaders, instinctively leapt into the fray to defend her clanmates, leaving her precious eggs with the other nesting mothers. However, just as Freya finished off an enemy dragon she happened to hear a cry coming from the nesting layers, and fear set in. She rushed to the nest to find a rather large guardian male inside, where she then saw eggs everywhere smashed to pieces, including her own clutch. The guardian she had seen had his talons painted in the blood of the nest site inhabitants. Freya, shattered at the sight of what was to be her children, attempted to banish the guardian, but was defeated with ease as she could barely stand with her spirit broken. She only just saved from being finished by the guardian off as the sounds of the rival clan retreating caused the intruder to flee, probably regrouping with his clanmates. Broken and beaten, she laid with the remains of her clutch until her mate came. Together, they grieved the loss of their clutch. Freya could not move on from the devastating loss, and because of this she and her mate grew apart, and soon ended up drifting apart. Freya would go on leave the clan after this, no longer seeing any reason to stay, her new purpose to find the killer of her unborn hatchlings and bring justice to their memory.

A couple years later Freya finds herself in an ice clan, having lost the trail of the guardian in the icy plains, she was talking with some of the clan members when one mentioned that a particularly bloody battle took place at the border of the Ashfall Waste and The Windswept Plateau, just maybe she would find some kind of clue that maybe he was there. Once she made her way over she could see why it was being talked about, it was a massive fight as bodies littered the battlefield. She began to look for possible signs of her killer when she noticed a small fae wandering about seemingly searching the field. Freya knew faes were small but this one seemed a little too small to be wandering off on her own. She approached the little coal colored fae who seemed entirely invested in something under a pile of corpses. “What are you doing, little fae” Freya questioned. Startled the little fea’s head whipped around, then stumbling on her own wings where she face planted into the dirt. Freya knew finally her suspicions were correct as the little wind fea was still a young hatching, and shouldn’t be wandering this far out of her den, much less her home territory. Once the little fea was on her feet again, Freya learned that this was where she normally met a caravan where she would trade feathers for books and scrolls, she also learned the little one was named Pumpkin. Freya, fearing for the safety of the little hatchling, decided to make sure the little fea got home safely, completely forgetting her reason for being there in the first place. Once they returned to Pumpkin’s home she found out that the little fae was all on her own. For the first time in a long time Freya felt conflicted, she didn’t want to leave the young hatchling all on her own where she could be killed, but if she took care of this little fae she would have to abandon her task of hunting down her clutches killer as taking the fae with her would put Pumpkin in more danger. As she spent time with the little naive fae, she began to question the life she had been living, how her non stop task of hunting down her clutches killer has left her life a bit of a blur. She barely remembers anyone she met over the years she traveled from place to place, scars licked her hide yet she knew not where they came from. She truly began to feel tired of it all; the endless chase, clinging to a past long behind her. With all this in mind she decided it was no longer worth her life to hunt down the guardian, for all she could know he could be feet away, but she would not pursue him any longer. Feeling a bit hopeful, Freya stayed with Pumpkin to make sure she was able to grow up and see her dreams though, as odd as they might be. Over time Freya and Pumpkin would end up taking in dragons in need of food or shelter, most would leave, but some stayed and before Freya knew it they had made a new clan. Freya never intended to make a clan, much less lead one, but at the time she was the only dragon able to lead at all; thus, she became the leader for years to follow. In honor of how Freya and Pumpkin meet, and Pumpkin’s fascination with fire. The clan was named The Phoenix Requiem. Where she hoped to live as simply as a life she could with her adoptive daughter, but in time she would learn there were still a few surprises left for Freya to find.

It all started with a dragoness named Cell. She would move into the clan hoping for a change of pace; seeing no reason to deny the mirror, Freya let her join the clan and see how she fit in. All was going well until a dragon Freya loathed reared his figuratively ugly head. He used his charisma and good looks to lure in dragonsses into his embrace, only to get left behind once he had his fun with them. He had a legendary temper and while at the time Freya could not confirm it, he would take out his anger on his hatchlings and his mates. The young and shy Cell had fallen for Strongjaw’s trick and ended up becoming his mate. Not long after Cell would have two hatchlings with him. This would lead up to the first meeting with Ryuu.

Freya didn’t see Ryuu the first time he came to her small clan. She only vaguely heard of him though Cell as she didn’t seem to want to talk much about her father or mother. Freya would find that Cell's energy would drain faster over the days and would actively avoid going back to her den. Eventually one night Freya would get Cell to tell that Strongjaw was threatening her and her hatchlings. Freya, enraged by this, stormed over to their den to remove Strongjaw from her clan, only to find him dead in his nest, blood dripping from his neck. Even if it was Strongjaw that was killed, she now had a killer on her hands, not to mention how far they had to have gotten into the clan to reach the den. If she was to find this killer she would have to look to Cell, but this would prove to be fruitless as not long after Cell would leave the clan not able to stay any longer. Time passed and who had ever killed Strongjaw was good at covering their track. Since all danger seemed to pass Freya let the incident fall to the back of her mind, continuing her calm days. More dragons from the same clan Cell had come from would join Freya’s, she assumed since Cell had come they might have thought her clan was a good place to come. Members of Freya’s clan would wander over to the plague clan as well making them inadvertently intertwined. Because of this Omni the leader of said plague clan and Freya would write to each other making sure the respective clan members were doing well, The clans began to know each other by name and would kindle a kind or respect to one another despite there flight alignment.
