Queen of Spectra

The former queen of a fallen kingdom, Aera is a kindhearted dragon plagued with self-doubt. The kingdom she led prospered until their goddess disappeared, and then it destroyed itself in a terrible civil war. Her perceived failure as a leader weighs heavily on her, and she tends to refuse herself any happiness, believing it is a penance for her failed kingdom and the lives lost. She travels around Sornieth in search of a new purpose, and though she will never admit it, forgiveness. From whom, she doesn't know. But the forgiveness of others will not help her heal until she can forgive herself for sins that were never hers to begin with.



Aera found herself in the land of light and, much to her disappoint, saw that the bright hope of the land only fueled her self-loathing and pain. This land promised so much life...so many lives she was responsible for losing. It was in this downward spiral that she met a coatl, Csaba, who lived his life as a jester of the cruelest kind -finding a way to scorn and ridicule the world around him. At first, Aera found comfort in his anger. Enough comfort that she stayed and cared for a nest with him. But as her hatchlings entered the world, she was reminded of all the good that existed in the world, and all the pain she had lost, and knew that she could no longer stay with this clan.
