So, real talk here. Deonte does a lot for his lair. Not only is he head Father and Grandfather, but he manages everything that goes in and out of the Hoard. He logs everything that we receive, even the useless sticks that we bring back from scavenging. Without him, the whole lair would be a broke mess. Thanks to him, we have a lot of treasure in the Vault, and just in the Hoard. He’s thinking of taking on a helper in the lair, but no one seems to be mature enough. He’s had his eye on Nightwater for a while, though. He grew up to be smart.

Although he’s the manager of the Hoard, he’s not, well, a hoarder. Deonte is able to let things go in a snap, but is sadly very vulnerable to his family’s whining. Those useless sticks only stay because it’s the only thing hatchlings bring in, and they always cry when he sells them. Who would even buy those things anyway? Deonte does give them a pat on the back when it comes in handy at Swipp’s Swap Stand and Crim’s Collection Cart. Any money is good money.

All jokes aside, Deonte is really popular with the ladies. Right behind Nightwater, he has the most children out of any other dragon in his lair. At least, dragons that were hatched in his lair. Some of the new additions have come from auctioning lairs, and he recognizes that their children still count. Like his forever mate Essie, it seems like they’re slowing down quite a bit. There’s only so much lair space, and only so much money to expand it with. Essie does love shiny dragons.
