Greetings, traveler. I am Shadow, the leader of Warfrost. I have ruled Warfrost Clan for quite some time and, hopefully, there will be many more years to come. My Clan has very few native Ice Dragons, therefore making us unique and maintain all types of abilities. I formed this Clan with my bare claws, me being a rouge dragon seeking to become a Clan leader.
When I was a small dragonet, I hated my birth-clan with all my heart. The way the older dragons acted was completely unjust and wrong. Smaller dragonets, like I was, would constantly be picked on and bullied. We would be hit, smacked, and forced to fight- our own clan-members. The leaders and higher-ups would allow this, saying how 'it made you tougher.' In truth, all it did was give you awfully large reminding scars and teach you about how to kill yourself; your Clan, your heart, and your mind.
Dragons who rebelled, or more simply, didn't want to fight or act that way, would be severely punished. You would be beaten until you went unconscious. You would have parts of your wings cut off. You would possibly die suffering these treatments.
To protect myself, I fought. I fought until I couldn't fight anymore. Worse, I killed three of my clan-members.
After some time, the higher-ups approved of me and asked if I would like to become a Gladwer, a dragon who fights to the death in a circular stone pit, the Death Colosseum, as it was called. To every dragon other than me, this was an honour. Any dragon in my Clan would have happily accepted. But, I couldn't. I was done acting "perfect" to my Clan and I was done killing myself and killing my clan-members.
In the dead of night, just after I had been offered to become a Gladwer, I quietly left the Clan and the territory without being seen. While I was alone, I had met a kind-hearted dragon named Goldwind. She explained to me that she had come of old age and all her life all she wanted was to form a Clan full of dragons who truly cared of one another and helped another. She asked me to form a Clan, far away in a land where there is no death among one kind, for her. I accepted, happy to have met Goldwind and happy to forget about my past. She had told me to be careful and never let my old clan-members find me.
I had later learnt that she was also one who thought my Clan's actions were wrong and she had too left many years ago. She had been on the run the entire time, asking dragons afar to join her and become a good-hearted Clan. Unfortunately, the many dragons she asked had thought she was insane and did not want to leave their birth-clan. She told me everything about her- her past, everything she had done wrong, her beliefs, and what she was living for.
Together, I helped her gather a few dragons and easily got them to join in a more persuasive way than she had been doing previously. She thanked me, stood by my side, and had become closer to me than any other dragon had before. Not too long after, she had died peacefully, thanking me all along.
And that, my dear traveler, is how Warfrost came to be.
