Purpura

Purpura was born in the Scarred Wasteland, where her mother was held captive at the time. Soon after her hatching, her mother managed to escape, but got badly wounded doing so. She pushed the young Purpura to go on without her, and she reluctantly did. She kept running until she reached the canyons of the Shifting Expanse, where she hid from the Plague dragons hunting her.

When she reached adulthood, she turned back to search for her mother. Years she spent wandering the continent, but her dear mother was nowhere to be found. Purpura began to fear she never survived her injuries.

The last region on her search was the Viridian Labyrinth. She had been avoiding the ancient jungle. She feared the inhabitants might be hostile because of her element, and the last thing she wanted was to be hunted down again. The first dragons she encountered chased her away, just as she feared, but Purpura did not want to give up so easily. She struggled her way deeper into the forest, trying to avoid any other dragons.

One night, a border patrol of the Charya clan found her sleeping. They caught her off guard and captured her before she could escape. They brought her to one of the elder clan members, a Ridgeback named Psittacus. The two immediately recognized each other. Purpura had met him before, back when she sought shelter in the Shifting Expanse as a child. He asked how she had been all this time, and after hearing her story, offered her to stay with the clan.

Purpura accepted, as the clan was a great spot to search from an return to. As soon as she had searched the area, she would move on. But she never did. She only rarely lets other dragons come close to her because of being hunted and chased away so many times by others, and has a tongue as sharp as a sickle claw. She slowly began accepting that she would never see her mother again.

Now Purpura enjoys practicing her powerful magic, and only a select few, who can handle her harsh methods of teaching, learn from her. She loves to experiment with all kinds of spells. Someone who has done her or someone else wrong in her eyes tend to suddenly behave oddly, or see things that others don't. Though if she wants to try something, anyone who crosses her path alone could become a guinea pig. That's the reason she loves to go find some kind of trespasser before the Scouts do. Others avoid her most of the time, but she has no real enemies within the clan. Haway is the only one who comes close; he would rather see her and her filthy Plague magic gone from his beloved forest. But although the druid doesn't want to admit it, her magic is very effective in keeping members of the Beastclans away from the lair. Purpura is a loner, and pretends not to care, but enjoys being part of the clan.
