meeting klondike had been entirely his fault. she heard the crashboomBANG of an explosion over the howling of the wind and glimpsed it sending him sky-high and crashing into the hoarfrost in front of her. as he skidded to a halt, rolling tempestuously through the snow and guffawing all the while, his eyes bright and shining clear as the ice she knew so well, she confused her need for a charge with the feelings of love, and followed him to the desert, thinking it her duty.

she knows better now-- she knows it to be both.

it has recently come to attention that mawson is distantly related to nox, one of the mirrors residing on the range surrounding the ranchland. klondike, as expected, met this news with excitement aplomb, treating nox as if he were an adopted brother, but mawson herself seems conflicted with her feelings on the situation, mostly likely due to nox's volatile nature and his disturbing relationship with his mate.
