Loki the Beloved Trickster charmed his way into the Rescue Clan a few winter's back - when he found himself orphaned and homeless at the tender age of but two months old. Indeed at that time, Queen Akiko had - with heavy heart - issued a most reluctant moratorium on taking in any new recruits - due to a particularly inclement autumn that had taxed the resources of the clan, thus bringing them nearly to the brink of starvation, however she alas found herself quite unable to resist the half-breed pup's ever-so-charming (and disarming) soulful brown eyes, and therefore resolved to forsake a hefty portion of her own royal allotment of paltry sustenance, so as to nurse the starving little "thief of hearts" back to health, and - eventually - grant him the high honor of serving as "clan jester" - not to mention one of her most beloved of boon companions, christening him after the Norse deity for trickery, being as he had so successfully "tricked" his way into the clan - to say nothing of her thoroughly and eternally smitten heart-of-hearts.
