Biography
youngest child of Lockheed and Bermuda, sibling to Io and Europa. Member of house [unnamed] and The Blessed of his generation. Had no desire to leave his family behind to begin with, but Io resents him for inheriting the power that she believes to be rightfully hers, and bullies him mercilessly, eventually driving him into the arms of Yastrebok and his forces. having been left to the hands of his sister for most of his life, unbeknownst to his parents, Ganymede is meek and fearful in personality. his gift seems to manifest in a passive way, unusual for a warrior bloodline, making him a Seer, allowing him to see glimpses of the future. Yastrebok keeps him close because of this, a Seer's abilities more powerful and prescise that his own promonition's. Whether or not Yastrebok is simply using Ganymede for his abilities remains to be seen, but Ganymede is fond of Yastrebok nonetheless, happy to be taken under the rugged leader's wing and have his power's nurtured rather than be shamed for them. is scared to death of Yastrebok's daughter Ahkoolah, who's violent nature reminds him much of Io, although Ahkoolah prefers to work more subtly than Io's constant boasts of strength. Ganymede is unsure of how he feels towards Leiptrvarthr, Yastrebok's bodyguard, as he respects the old dragon's wisdom and kind words, Leiptrvarther says a lot of things against Yastrebok and his cause that Ganymede isn't sure he's ready to accept after the kindness that his leader has shown him. Locket, clan ogygia's communications officer/mail boy, has been known to flirt with him upon occasion, which flusters him greatly. He insists that it probably means nothing to Locket, who flirts with just about everybody, but has caught himself lying awake at night one too many times hoping that maybe it does.
[unnamed] house
the house was formed many many generations ago, when a dragon formed a pact with a spirit deity for aid in an ancient war, in exchange for a lifetime of servitude even after death.
however, even after the first dragon’s passing, the deity’s gift still manifests once every generation meaning the house gained a reputation for its warrior bloodline, and the name alone is a hefty title for a dragon to live up to.the house name is only carried by those related by blood, but there is a seperate house/title (that i will also have to think of a name for) that those who are mated to someone of the warrior bloodline, that carries a similar reputation politically.
over time the name of the deity was lost, due to the sheer number of generations and the fact that the gift appears differently for each dragon it manifests in, but regardless all members of the house prioritise spirits and minor deities over their respective flight gods, and believe that they will be reunited with the spirit and house members in the afterlife.
although, those blessed with the spirit’s gift typically have short lifespans naturally, even though it’s more common for them to die in the battles that they’re fated to be thrown into.
those who share the bloodline but do not have the gift are often somewhat frail, many are sickly and blindness in a common genetic trait.
