Biography
Matriarch of a fledgling lair in the northernmost reaches of the Ashen Waste. An orphaned,
misplaced whelp of low renown with a disdain and lack of talent in magick, Llewellyn drifted between loose colonies of mutually-aligned drakes throughout her adolescence. Although her fiery temperament was ever a point of contention with the prescient Water and independent Lightning Flights of the area, she had hoped to find a lasting place among a mixed coalition of dragons in the coastal cliffs east of the lightning farms. After soothsayers foresaw the destruction of the shared brood lair by a hurricane of unprecedented destructive power, a rift emerged between Water and Lightning Flight elders.
Leaving ahead of the coming chaos and schism, Llewellyn took wing in the dead of night. On the
southern winds, banking around the outskirts of a lesser coastal storm, the matriarch-to-be cut through the territory of a confederation of ambitious Lightning clans. Prideful, arrogant, and power-hungry, the clans had allied, intent on seizing control over a larger swath of the lightning farms. Unwilling and unable to suffer the slight of a firedrake in their skies, a pack of young Mirrors intercepted Llewellyn, engaging her with the advantage of elemental magicks. A scrapper by nature, tooth and claw bore her to the western reaches of the Ashen Waste, felling the handful of drakes she could engage in melee, collapsing west of the border long after her pursuers broke off for fear of counter-assault from the Fire Flight.
Unresponsive for days, Llewellyn fought for survival under the care of an amiable Tundra with a
small inclination for healing magick. An initiate of unremarkable talent, the local whelp nonetheless tipped the odds in favor of his patient's survival and helped her recover consciousness. Initially contemptuous and suspicious of the Tundra, who introduced himself as Aubergine, Llewellyn allowed the jealousy that fueled this mistrust to subside over the weeks of recovery following her battle. Crestfallen over the politics of magical tutelage in the west, Aubergine accompanied the Guardian when she declared her aim to find purpose and power in the north.
Over the coming months, the bond between the Guardian and her Tundra grew from tolerance
to admiration as they drifted further north in the Wastes. Llewellyn proved herself indispensable to Aubergine in smaller territorial conflicts, so the pair had little trouble taking enough prey to survive the Wastes. Nearing adulthood and incapable of suffering a nomadic lifestyle any longer, Llewellyn and her newly-claimed mate carved out a small piece of territory in the hotly contested magma plains of the Emberglow Hearth. Keen to secure her claim, the progenitors quickly set about spawning a brood of their own - adding Paimon, Murmur, and Furfur to their new family. Attracting the attention of a small assortment of myriad-aligned drakes in the establishing weeks of her domain, Llewellyn was finally crafting her own destiny.
