Zephyr is a dragon who is never idle, and that is mostly due to him being easily distracted. He is always thinking about his next meal and, indeed, is set upon finding a way to devour his familiar. The Amaranth Moth, who has been following him around since he was a hatchling (and is far too large for Zephyr to eat) has become a sort of reluctant chew toy, and Zephyr will absently nibble her when he is thinking. It’s why a lot of dragons (including his daughter, Mudpuppy) think he isn’t entirely serious about eating her; he’d probably miss her company.

Despite his silly antics, Zephyr has a good heart, and, in fact, has been responsible for many of Gwen’s compassionate decisions. He genuinely cares about helping other dragons, which is why he joined Gwen in the first place. Even though Zephyr can be hyper-active, he is always there for his fellow dragon, and that is why Gwenyth has come to trust his judgment…even if he’s off chasing dinner the next moment.

  origins
The way Zephyr and Gwenyth met wasn’t exactly the most traditional. Zephyr, eagerly chasing a juicy, delicious insect, rammed into her at top speed. The Guardian wasn’t too thrilled to say the least, but allowed him to accompany her, and now they are good friends.
