Starting with her genesis from the Lightning-struck sands of the Highland Scrub, Sumnatrix has been a little dragon with a big destiny. She is a daughter of The Stormcatcher to be sure: quick and clever with great ambitions for herself and all the dragons that look to her for guidance. Flashy is one word for the matron fae. Outwardly, she has a fondness for adorning her tempest-dark form in the sparkling jewels with which her dear mate Stratessin indulges her. Inherently, she is given to moments of swift-spark brilliance when it comes to making decisions for her lair. These grand, electric-strike moments are not confined to ideas. Though Sumnatrix is no great spellcaster when it comes to ventures across the lands of Sornieth, but when flying above the territory she calls home it is as if she gathers a truly terrifying amount of potential of energy to herself. In the times she has had cause to protect the lair that she loves, her spells have lashed out with formidable ferocity. The tempests she is capable of calling are so great, once she nearly chased off a Livewire Grizzly! Sparkling with jewels and crackling with power as she is, it might be easy to assume that Sumnatrix is an arrogant leader. And yet nothing could be further from the truth. Her strength is in her lair - not merely the sands of the Scrub, but the gathering of dragons who look to her for protection and guidance. She is the one that binds them all together - the spellcasters and warriors, the historians and potionmakers. Despite her species-typical monotone, she conveys the empathy of her listening through the fanning of her frills and demonstrates her affection and care for her friends through her unwavering support and encouragement. The love that eclipses all, of course, is that she has for her mate Stratessin. She relies on the mirror without question, and there's nowhere she feels more safe then nestled beneath his wing as they watch the Stormcatcher's electricity lace across the bellies of the storms that roar across their home in the Shifting Expanse. |
