Shade

The Mage and second in command in the lair, Shade's intellect and subsequent spell casting ability are forces to recon with. Her mysterious and shy personality makes her an unpredictable opponent, but her softer side is shown with the hatchlings. She seems to be the only dragon in the lair to be able to talk to Boundless without fear, and has even been known to smack him upside the head from time to time.

Her personality was tempered as her time as a hermit, before coming across Boundless. She is quite a capable, self sufficient dragon, and helps those in the lair who aren't, get a clue.



The first of her clan to accept the blessing of Mother, Shade is besides herself. Not born of the wound like a mirror, she'd still made herself a family and acceptance in the plague. Now, with the direct approval of Mother, she's found confidence like never before. Brazen and blazing, she's no longer anywhere close to the shy tundra who oh so long ago found herself a partner in Boundless.

A soft spot for children manifested with two heads watching them scurry like a predator watches prey, sharp and intense. More eyes and more heads means more to view at once. While she would never hurt them, others have noticed Shade's tendency towards rougher play and fiercer expressions.

Some have claimed she's tried to dip their hatchlings in the wound itself, a claim Shade doesn't deny. "The children must be clean." She says. Ironic, but not wrong. No water is clean in the plague's domain. The purest thing is disease itself.

With Mother's blessing she has found herself a key element in maintaining the lair's Bonewall. Without her, all would collapse on itself and the lair would be swallowed by The Wastes.

Boundless, for his part, is loving it.
