Lady Sizzle from Fire
-Part of the First Five- When Sizzle was just a very young hatchling, she didn't have her parents. She was hatched alone, by the late afternoon sun shining over The Ashfall Waste. The young Pearlcatcher had a very hard time surviving, eating only the berries from the bushes around her and the occasional insect that crawled closer. She used the shell of her egg as shelter. The shell eventually started to harden and whiten, no longer looking like the molten magma egg she came from - instead, it formed a pearl. The object that had kept her safe and sheltered from the rain and the burning sun, eventually became the physical representation of her soul. She never left this pearl behind and named herself Sizzle, after the sound the rain made on the warm ground of the Emberglow Heart. The Pearlcatcher grew bigger and eventually left that place and found a new home on the coast of Flamecaller's territory, near the Blacksand Annex. that is where she met Whisp. You could say it was love on first sight between the two, but their relationship wasn't always that easy. She resented him at first, just sticking with him since it seemed he couldn't quite take care of himself. Although Sizzle was hardened by her lifestyle, she always kept her motherly instinct. She took care of the somewhat younger Pearlcatcher, sheltering him with her wings when it rained. Whisp didn't have his pearl at this time - he had never found an object important enough for him to keep it as his representation of his soul. On a very stormy night, her own egg broke in two parts; it is still unclear why this happened. Whisp claimed the smallest part and keeps it with him. It has now formed his egg. This tied their souls together in a way that's difficult to understand for everybody else - they can feel each other's physical pain. That has always been quite hard during fights. But more than that; they can understand each other like no-one else, like they're two parts of the same dragon. This is why it hurt Sizzle so much when Whisp betrayed her with Liitokorppi, the beautiful young Spiral that joined their little group a little after she met Whisp. There was a nest of hatchlings from that affaire, and since then she can't look either of them in the eye - she just sits in her own little corner, gazing at the stars and clutching her pearl tightly in her arms, her claw feeling the still rough edge of the crack, wondering why life must be so cruel.
