deputy leader; peacemaker | cool and collected | sees the beauty in everything | soft-spoken "i see the beauty in everything. everything except me." mates: O P A L and A M O R E (quick note -- the official birth dates of the dragons are NOT the roleplay birth dates!! ^^'') Thornbrood has always been an oddball. He liked picking daisies and cooing over animals rather than fighting for his flight, to protect the ones he loved. Growing up in the Shadow flight, it should have made him cold, reserved, angry, right? Wrong. Thornbrood finds the beauty in everything. He would pad around the clan's territory and pick flowers, and find any creatures he could spend time with. Thornbrood never knew his parents, like the majority of the non-shadow dragons in the clan. He arrived a few weeks after Opal. The two quickly bonded over their shared oddity; the fact they weren't of Shadow origin. When the progens disappeared, when the clan was falling into shambles, Thornbrood smiled. He found the beauty in each and every situation. He knew this was going to happen; but he also knew that new beginnings were awaiting him. For every step of the journey to the Southern Icefield, Thornbrood would hum or happily chat to Opal. She thought he was out of his mind, because what dragon right in their mind would be happy to leave their home behind? But, he made her understand. She learnt that the Tangled Wood was going to do them no good, so as they travelled across the beautiful Sea of a Thousand Currents (it was pretty even though they didn't see a thing!), the windy Windswept Plateau, the peculiar Starfall Isles and finally, the freezing Southern Icefield. The trip took longer as, for one, the younger dragons had not mastered the art of flight yet, and two, they had to avoid the Scarred Wasteland, as none of the dragons would be able to take the plague or the dragons that came with it. Opal was reluctant at first, she wondered; how did ice dragons survive this cold? But, Thornbrood accepted the cold happily. He pranced into their new lair, already setting up. It was odd, to see a nature dragon so happy with the desolate freezing wasteland they had moved to. After a few days, it started become like home. And that's how it needs to stay.
