Queenie was barely a day-old hatchling when she was picked up out of the sands by Lado and Lola as they traveled together to find a place to start a clan together. Her earliest memories are of the warmth of four bodies piled around her - Lola, Lado, Midnight, and Pera, who were little more than hatchlings themselves. They named her Queenie, after the gold and purple colors of her wings, and the name stuck. The three of them grew up together, and while she never quite shared in the closeness the two boys had, they still harbored a deep respect for her - a respect that only grew as she did, until she towered over their lithe skydancer frames.

Queenie has only ever known her clan, but it took her a long time to find her place in it. The journey was shaped by memories - taking to the hinterlands to fight for the first time, feeling enemies fall before her claws. Her crush on the slightly older and ever-noble Pera, and the two daughters that became of their brief affair - Daya and Dawn, some of the clan's first children. Laying her head down on the warm sands and feeling that she was home, then realizing that her clan was her everything - her heart, her soul, her history and her future - and going to sleep knowing that she had found her charge without even having to look for it.
