Fire in his scales and despair in his eyes as soon as he hatched, FireIce was quickly named and sent to a new clan. A tiny hatchling, he had no friends...until the day after he had arrived and a new nest hatched.
He was FireIce and she was Iceanna. She was born of two icy parents. BloodIce and IceWoman. But her heart was warm. Warm as the sun. Warm as the fire she was born into. Warm. So warm.
Whereas FireIce was pure fire in scales, his heart was weak and watery, just like the element he was born into. The element he would do anything to be a part of. He longed to leave the fires, not to quench them, just to leave them, and to cool the flames of his body in the water.
Iceanna was his one joy in the fire clan, but when it became clear that there were other dragons in the clan who also longed for their element, or at least a change in power, he joined them...taking his fire loving ice mate with him.
Her heart was crushed, but she went with him, because she loved him. He did all he could to make her happy, but alas, nothing could. Not endless presents, not even the two children that they hatched. He would spend his entire life with a mate who was broken hearted...because of him.
